What We Offer
Discover our unique approach to early education combining outdoor learning, nature connection, and Hygge-style comfort.
Oliver's Garden
Our beautiful outdoor learning space serves as a natural classroom where children explore, discover, and grow.
What children do: Plant and grow vegetables, explore insects and wildlife, build with natural materials, develop gross motor skills, and connect with nature.
Benefits: Develops curiosity about the natural world, encourages physical activity, builds confidence, and fosters environmental awareness.

Forest School (Tuesdays)
Every Tuesday, our children venture into the woodland for immersive Forest School learning—a nature-based approach that develops resilience, independence, and a deep connection with the outdoors.
What children do: Build shelters and dens, explore woodland, collect natural materials, sit around the fire circle, discover insects and plants, and engage in unstructured outdoor play.
Benefits: Builds confidence and resilience, develops problem-solving skills, encourages risk-taking in safe environments, and fosters a love of nature.
Hygge-Style Learning
Hygge is a Scandinavian concept of warmth, comfort, and coziness. We bring this philosophy into our learning environment, creating a space where children feel safe, valued, and free to explore at their own pace.
What this means: Soft lighting, comfortable seating, natural materials, warm colors, minimal pressure, and child-led play. Learning happens through exploration, not instruction.
Benefits: Reduces anxiety, encourages intrinsic motivation, supports emotional wellbeing, and allows children to develop at their own pace.

Child-Led Play & Learning
At Little Owls, we believe children learn best through play. Our child-led approach means children choose their own activities, follow their interests, and learn at their own pace in a supportive environment.
How it works: We provide a rich, stimulating environment with open-ended resources. Children explore freely while our staff observe, support, and gently guide their learning.
Why it matters: This approach builds confidence, independence, creativity, and a genuine love of learning. Children develop problem-solving skills and learn to follow their curiosity.

Weekly Themes & Topics
Every week we introduce a new theme or topic to engage children's curiosity and provide a framework for learning across all areas of development.
Theme-Based Learning
Themes might include seasons, animals, community helpers, nature, celebrations, or topics suggested by the children themselves.
Multi-Sensory Activities
Each theme is explored through art, music, movement, sensory play, stories, and outdoor exploration to engage all learning styles.
Child-Responsive
While we plan themes, we remain flexible and responsive to children's interests, allowing them to lead the direction of learning.
